The League of Northwest Whitewater Racers is an all-volunteer group of paddlers in the Pacific Northwest. Under the auspices of the American Canoe Association, USA Canoe&Kayak, and the Washington Kayak Club, the League organizes wildwater races as well as races and training clinics in whitewater slalom.

59th Annual Salmon la Sac

A bunch of paddlers happened upon one another at Salmon la Sac on June 8-9, 2020 and decided to have a slalom race party. Then gates were quickly fashioned and hung below the private property and all of a sudden there was a race! Physical distancing was maintained at all times during gate judging, racing, "awards," and in general, hanging out. It was a busy weekend for rec boaters running the Cooper and Cle Elum gorge and they all enjoyed testing their skills on the "course."
